Due to the extremely high cost of obtaining (and maintaining) EPA and CARB certification, certified systems on the market today are generally only available for late-model fleet vehicles. There are several model-specific kits available that have brackets and programming designed for a particular vehicle and work right out of the box. However, these are created for fleet vehicles that have enough sales volume to pay for the cost developing the kit. Model-specific kits start off as universal kits so just about any MPFI or TBI vehicle can be converted with a propane injection system. The installer just has to fabricate brackets to suit the vehicle and then set up the system so as the propane fuel trims match the gasoline fuel trims.
